Ways of Being
Ways of Being is a dedicated website that aims to advance knowledge and foster awareness and understanding of after-death contact. The site explores the connection between these experiences and psychospiritual growth, spirituality, and perceptions of the afterlife.
The content presented on the website is grounded in my own research and reflects both a personal and professional interest in topics relating to death and the afterlife. My relationship with the afterlife, and my curiosity and commitment to this area stem from lived experiences occurring throughout my life. From an early age I encountered what I define as non-ordinary or other-worldly phenomena, and these events shaped and informed my understanding of existence beyond physical death.
These formative experiences taught me that death is not an end, but rather a transition—a doorway which leads to another kind of existence. My ongoing encounters with these phenomena have continued into adulthood, and continually influence my perspective on life and how I engage with the world as an embodied being. They inform how I live in the world as an embodied being and how I understand ‘life’.
As an adult I was bereaved several times, which also included becoming a relatively young widow. During this time I experienced the presence of those close to me who died ‘returning’ on numerous occasions, without provocation from myself. These unexpected and random other-worldly encounters led to my decision to undertake after-death contact research and to complete a PhD in bereavement, grief and the afterlife at the University of Sydney in 2013. Death had never been this personal before, and I wanted to demystify it as I did the after-death encounters I was experiencing.
